Spellbinder Sequel Finished!
The sequel to “Spellbinder” was officially accepted by Feiwel & Friends last week. Hooray! The next step is copyediting, which is where incredibly detail-oriented people scour the manuscript for spelling mistakes, iffy grammar and suchlike. It’s really interesting to see how many they find, no matter how much you think you’ve checked.
The title (at the moment) is “The Queen of the Abyss,” which the US seems to like but Macmillan UK don’t. (Groan.) I really want this book to have the same title everywhere, so some compromise is probably in order. For now, though, I have to get started on book three…

In about a year. I’ll let you know when I have a definite date. I can’t wait to see the artwork for the cover – that’s the best part!

Spellbinder is the first book and now it has a sequel. Spellbinder was sold in the UK as The Last Ghost, so there might be a bit of confusion.

I really LOVED you’re book! Elsie and Steve are such great companions for Belladonna! Their personalities and skills really compliment hers. I’m waiting with bated breath for the sequel! (I’m dying to know what the idea behind the Spellbinder is! Could it be reincarnation?? I can’t wait!!)

Thank you! I’m really happy with the second book and can’t wait for people to read it. Elsie gets to leave the school buildings for the first time in nearly 100 years and Belladonna and Steve need to use all their teamwork and skills to find the Queen of the Abyss in her home, the gloomy House of Ashes.

As a librarian, I, too, love your book!! Can’t wait for the second one. One question, though, how many books are you planning on doing in this series? Thanks!

I’m glad you liked it! My evil plan at the moment is for five books.

My son just devoured your book today and had me check to see if there is a sequel coming out soon. He loved it!

Woo hoo! And they told me boys wouldn’t like it — hah! I’m really excited about the second book and just getting started on the third. I can’t tell you the title for that as my working title is far too lame and I’m sure I can do better!
BTW, I had a look at your site and it looks really nice. (And I share your dental woes – I’ve always been terrified of dentists!)

Wow, I can’t believe how much I’m addicted to this book! I think I’m in love! I have a crush on Steve. I just wish he wasn’t a fictional character:(
So I was wondering; do Steve and Belladonna like each other? Because I think it would make the books so much more interesting. Could you have her, like, I don’t know, kiss his cheek or something? It would just be so cute!

I LOVE Spellbinder! I took my daughter to the library so we could check out a couple books, one for her and one for me. While I was in “her” section, I noticed Spellbinder on top of one of the shelves as a ‘featured’ book and it grabbed me. I started it last night and finished it today. I haven’t done that with a book since I read the Twilight series in 5 days.
So know that this book appeals not only to children, but 30 year old moms as well. I cannot wait for the sequel!
