Kittens on TV!
So…I recently fostered a herd of kittens. There were six to start with, but a friend was looking for two new cats and wanted to bottle-raise two herself. This turned out to be v. good thing because, in addition to finding a good home for two of them, it meant that I only had to get up every three hours during the night to feed four…which still took ages.
Anyway, my oldest cat, Lizzie, became their mother and let them snuggle up to her and it was great fun having them in the house. (And I’m so proud of myself – I didn’t keep a single one. Now that’s self-control.) When they were 8 weeks old they were taken away to be fixed and have their shots and find new families. The organization I got them from is no-kill and they assured me that they all get homes in the end.
So there I am, missing them like crazy, when I get an email telling me that they had just been on TV. You can see them here. And how gorgeous do they look?
The whole experience was fantastic and I thoroughly recommend it, though if they need to be bottle fed you’ll have to be available 24/7 and have a very understanding boss!
Here’s a picture of all six right after I got them. The laundry basket turned out not to be such a great idea – once they started exploring they fell out and couldn’t get back in.

The six kittens I bottle-raised.
I’d definitely do it again!
